Why The Staff Is Wrong About TracingFriends at deviantART, here is the article that was part of the inspiration to create this club. Before you can understand this article you'll need to have read it.
While I have the utmost respect and appreciation for the job that the CEA team does, I was shocked, disgusted, and incredibly disappointed when I came across the aforementioned article. I've been a member of deviantART for quite some time and I remember the days before all this tracing nonsense was allowed.
Given recent events which I will not directly link to, but I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about- it's hard for me to believe that the staff is still turning a blind eye to tracing, still letting this farce go on. In the past few months there have been several incidents related to tracing that have caused large stirs in deviantART, and I thought it would perhaps become clear that a lot of people are angry. It's not just a few people. Remember the uproar
Ever wondered about IR photography (Infra Red) ?In General
Well, a few words about Infrared.
I will not get too technical cause its not my strong side, just a few words about it. Infrared photographs show a kind of thermo effect. Trees with white leaves and luminous white clouds against colored skies are the most common use for it. Many photographers on DA have tried it in the last few years and it seems to be more and more popular.
The Infrared opens a window on a parallel world intriguingly different to the one we usually see. The effect is surreal ans it shows a different kind of "documenting reality".
Here you can see the scene in normal view
And here is when using the IR filter -
We can't see Infrared light without the filter, we can only see it when It's isolated. Infrared photography is often confused with thermal imaging. It's not, It's just shows an effect similar to that. The difference is basically one of wavelength of electromagnetic radiation.
The filter shows the object be
Photography Tips and TutorialsThese are a selection of tips and tutorials both here and on deviantArt that can be useful for before, during, and after portions of taking a good photo. This was originally created as a gathering of useful information for the members of PhotographersClub, but they though it so helpful that it should be shared even further!
Tips & Tutorials on deviantART

DAM your photosNo disrespect intended...
Digital Asset Management (DAM)is a tool you should learn about.
I want to present two basic ideas, in 3 simple steps (and tips), to help you manage your photography work better. The first is managing you work on you computer (organizing it), and the second is the keywords and tags you add to it when submitting your work on-line.
A few words of introduction first. If you are a starting photographer, this is very important for you. The experienced ones will find it hard to Re-manage all the work they have done, and they probably have a system they work with (working, or not). However, if you are starting now to accumulate your photographs and submitting it on-line, this is essential for you, and easier to do.
Shell we begin?
1. Managing your photographs
This simple method is based on dates and places. The steps are all centered on creating a folder structure organized around the dates and places you took the pictures on.
This organization method is based on date
Establishing a Process for Better ArtMany of you are likely to have at least a general grasp on what I'm going to talk about, but for just as many, if not more people, this is going to be new and very beneficial to your progress and success as an artist.
The topic of discussion today is process. We all have a process for our work, some of us are very meticulous, while others are more sporadic, but there's generally a few basic steps that any successful artist is likely to employ.
LACK OF PLANNING
The main problem I see, and that most art instructors are likely to see, is lack of planning in people's work. People get too excited for their idea, and they jump right into their final piece, maybe after doing only one sketch.
From there, they end up struggling as they try to finish the piece. Maybe the background wasn't well planned enough, maybe the pose was too stiff or didn't make sense, maybe the composition is bad, but it's too late to fix, maybe the line art was too sloppy and the piece is suffering, or maybe they
Getting inspired for PhotographyWhat do you do when you don't know what to do
You get these "I don't know what to do next..." phases? When you want to do some photography, but your creative ideas simply ran out... Well, I can tell you what I do. You should know that what works for me may not be right for someone else. I am more of a "street photographer", I don't direst my shots, don't plan them. I'm not into models or stills in particular and so I depend solely on inspiration.
1. Check out the weather.
When I have an idea what I want to take pictures of, it's easy.. I go there. When I have no idea what to shoot, I simply go without knowing where. I check the weather to decide on the general idea. Warm days (without clouds in the sky) are good for urban shots since I don't need the sky in the frame, and it's mostly shaded anyway. Warm days with nice clouds are perfect for IR or landscape. Colder days are great for nature, Macro and reflections (puddles of rain), and they are also good for indoor shots and mood
another kind of noteI was going to just post this in a journal but I figured a news thing might be a better idea.
Last night, like most nights, I couldn't get to sleep, probably because my blood is made of 90% soda. So I put on 'Shark Week 2009' on Netflix (classy) and tried to draw a bit while I subtly terrified myself to sleep. Towards the end of the first episode, around 4:00am, I heard a very loud noise. I jumped and felt really stupid for jumping because I know that meant I was thinking "A shark is attacking me" because I was watching sharks and my instincts are not very bright.
Of course, it wasn't a shark, the sound was outside my window and sharks do not fly (yet). After my brain understood that the sharks were on TV my first thought was "my neighbor threw something out their window". You know when you hear a noise and you immediately have some thought in your head of what it was based on the sound it made? That was my first thought, even though that was highly unlikely, simply because

Photoshop tutorial- PS basics for newbiesPhotoshop tutorials
And I decided to make more useful journals You have to wait for my next tutorial A LOT, so I decided to make short tutorials here...in journals. I'll describe some Photoshop basics for all newbies who try to learn to use Photoshop. So in this article you'll find tutorials: How to make layers, How to change color to a layer, How to make groups/folders, How to change background color, How to rotate canvas and all basics in tool menu on the right side. In this tutorial I used my newest image Mermaid's Wisps, just to show you few things (I just had to open something )
If you wish to see images in full resolution then simply click on the images below (they are big as my screen 1920 x 1080px... OK I cropped bar below ). I used Photoshop CS6 here, so some things may be different in lower PS versions. I'll make even more tutorials
