i am trying to develop new metaphors for the entheogenic experience. The thing is, the experience is so against every thing we have been culturally conditioned to think that we have yet to develop the linguistic tools to really talk about it. You just have to experience it insead of trying to describe it. In the border are the 9 most common psycoactives and the sources for each. Starting with the top plant on the left and going around counter clockwise they are (and the coresponing chemicals starting on the left and going aroun clockwise): jimson weed-atropine, iboga-ibogane (an african hallucinogin), p. virdis-dmt, sonoran desert toat-meo5dmt, psilocybe mushrooms-psilocybin, peote-mescalin, ergot growing on rye-lsd, morning glories-lsa, and salvia-salvinorum A

I recognize 3 plants and the frog. But a list would be nice.

The piece looks magnificent. I love how the fumes from the bowl are cutting a hole in the sky.

attention to the important unspeakables is an understated art. i appreciate the hell out of this piece, i try really hard to get the feeling out of such experiences when back from trips, even though it kind of counteracts with the ordinary reasoning for going in the first place. unorthodox tripster talking to the people who will never understand as though it's even possible for them to without taking them outside themselves.. the blind will know the color yellow once i'm finished with them, and it seems the same on your side of the experience. excellent in many ways.

nice work again :).

I think what you say about entheogenic experiences being beyond our current linguistic capabilities is a bit too far though. Seems to me that this sort of block is mearly a minor product of 'advanced' civilizations need to standardize and normalize individuals' thinking patterns so that they serve specific functions of that civilization. I think the capability for comprehending and describing ones' self as an inward fold of reality onto itself is always there because its' a more fundamental(or 'primitive' but without the negative connotations that people often associate with that word) connection to reality. The problem is, that sort of understanding impedes productivity on a larger scale.

Many 'successful' societies - in a darwinian sense - rely on people being less than what they could be as individuals. But who really knows if thats bad, since we may just be a distastefully low level of sentience compared to what will subsume us as we become cells in a larger sentience. That sentience could even fundamentally rely our degradation, stupification, and cog-like specialization to achieve a 'higher order' of intelligence. Thats essentially whats happened within our own bodies/minds; the precursors to our own cells, in that biological sludge long long ago, may have been more 'refined' as individuals, than the slave cells that make up our selves today.
On the other hand, maybe a higher mode of understanding is overrated... like how Douglas Hofstadter, (AI guy) couldn't comprehend the disgust from his audience when he naively said it would be a beautiful 'continuation of pattern' when machines replaced human beings.

uhh.. sorry for that long post... I just mean i think alot of this sort of stuff/thinking is just something alot of people (after going through 'education' and 'socialization') have to 'relearn' from their earlier initial encounters with reality because they've become anathema to a well-oiled machine/society and turned into various types of taboos.

Those chemical structures always unnverve me :(
Peyote + mushrooms do have a strange beauty to them too.
And she looks like riddler!

ah the excitement of the ethnobotanical journeys inward
the work is outstanding as with everything else ive seen of yours so far.

very nice work, your tecnique is very advanced and your patience is beyond normal.
as you said, theres no way of explaining the experiences, just living it. at first all you want is to pass it foward and make everybody to understand how it is, encourage people to try it. but with time, you see that words are just useless in this matter. they are too limited and cannot express the beauty and complexity of a entheogen effect.
since we are born the traditional culture puts useless info on our minds, to make us blind and quiet. the entheogens are out there so that we can discover a new way to think, i new way to see the world and be in contact with all the energy and knowlegde(sp?) it transmits. not every person is ready to have this kind of experience, not every person should have this kind of experience, like terence says. but as time goes, the small group of "enlightened" minds are growing and becoming more united, trading experiences.

"those who talk do not know,
those who know do not talk"... we create.
and similarly "don't cast your pearls before swine"
those who get it will but there will be those who won't.
i've watched the seasons cycle in moments and have been the dew dripping from every blade of in a sea of grass but i'll never be able to give that to anyone. but that shouldn't stop us from trying.
good show!
